Orbweb Establishes Strategic Partnership with Andes Technology at 2016 Andes-Embedded Forum
Palo Alto, CA, June 22, 2016 – Although the 2016 IC Market Drivers Report reduced the market’s compound annual growth rate between 2014 and 2019 to 19.9% from the original CAGR of 21.1%, IC designers are developing platforms which reduces the time to market for IoT device manufacturers. This is the goal shared by both Orbweb and Andes Technology, whose strategic partnership was solidified at the 2016 Andes-Embedded Forum, which was hosted by Andes Technology and sponsored by Orbweb Inc.
The Forum was held during the COMPUTEX Expo 2016 at the Taipei International Convention Center in Taiwan on June 2th, and subsequently at the Grand Mercure Oriental Ginza in Shenzhen, which is known worldwide as the technology hub of East Asia. As a competitive processor IP provider based in Asia, Andes Technology addresses the demand from the IoT market by devoting themselves to providing customers low-power processor technologies, comprehensive software stack, and rich SoC building blocks from SoC development to product commercialization phase.
Andes Technology Officials states that, “Andes Technology is expanding our product roadmap to include power efficient processors, complementary platform IPs, and software building blocks to help construct an IoT device framework capable of connecting to the cloud service through Bluetooth, ZigBee, and Wi-Fi. In addition, low-power processor cores and efficient code by Andes instruction-set and compiler result in longer battery life and lower BOM cost for IoT products.”
With the goal of reducing IoT manufacturer’s time to market, Orbweb’s CEO James Wei stated, “We have introduced our own IoT platform, GoToMyThings, to upstream silicon IP providers, like Andes, and IoT manufacturers. GoToMyThings, which is an IFTTT-like IoT platform and is designed as a service portal for users to manage, monitor, and sync their connected devices, where all of the connected devices are interoperable.”
Established in 2005, Andes Technology Corporation is now a leading embedded microprocessor intellectual property supplier in the world. We devote ourselves in developing high-performance/low-power 32-bit processors and its associated SoC platforms to serve the rapidly growing embedded system applications worldwide.
